A last-one-standing party game for up to 8 players online, or 16 on a TV with phones as the controllers.
Everyone stands on a giant chocolate bar floating on a lake of hot cocoa. A square cracks and glows, and a moment later it snaps off and sinks. The first one is slow and easy to see. Then they come faster, two and three at a time, until there is hardly any bar left.
The others are in your way too. SHOVE pushes whoever is in front of you, and a good shove sends them over the edge or into a hole.
Fall in and you are not out of the game. Swim under the bar, come up at the edge of a square, and when somebody is standing on it, GRAB pulls them into the cocoa and you climb out where they stood. They can see your hand coming, so they can step away. The more people are swimming, the longer a grab takes to come back, and a climber cannot be grabbed or shoved for a moment.
Fewer than four of you? Bots fill the empty spots, unless you turn them off. Last one on the bar takes the round, and the first to three rounds wins the match.
How to play Snap
CONTROLS
Phone: left thumb to move, SHOVE to push. In the cocoa the same button is GRAB.
Desktop: WASD or the arrows to move, click to shove toward the pointer, click to grab in the cocoa.
TV: the phone is your controller. The stick moves, the one button shoves or grabs.
SQUARES
A square glows and cracks before it snaps off. Anyone still on it when it goes falls into the cocoa. They come faster and faster as the round goes on.
SHOVE
Shove pushes whoever is in front of you a good way back. Two people shoving each other at the same moment bounce apart. The button needs a second before the next shove.
OUT? SWIM UNDER THE BAR
In the cocoa you swim under the chocolate and come up at the edge of any square. The square you would grab is outlined. When somebody stands on it, GRAB pulls them in and you climb out in their place. A hand is up for a moment before it closes, so the one on the square can step away. The more people are swimming, the longer GRAB takes to come back, and nobody can be grabbed or shoved just after climbing out.
WINNING
Last one on the bar takes the round. First to three rounds wins the match.
