A last-one-standing party game for up to 8 players online, or 16 on a TV with phones as the controllers.
Drop a party popper and it goes off a moment later in a cross. Anybody standing in its lanes is popped. The lanes light up in the dropper's colour and flash faster as the fuse runs down, so you can always see where not to be. Gifts block the way: pop them open to reach the others, and some hide power-ups that make your poppers reach further, let you drop more at once, run faster, or kick a popper down the lane.
Popped? You are not out of the game. You run round the edge of the floor and throw poppers in. Pop someone and you come back where they fell.
The floor grows with the number of players. Nothing can pop you in the first seconds of a round, and if a round runs long the speakers start coming down. Fewer than four of you? Bots fill the empty spots, unless you turn them off. Last one standing takes the round, and the first to three rounds wins.
How to play Poppers
CONTROLS
Phone, left thumb to run, POP to drop a popper where you stand.
Desktop, arrows or WASD to run, Space to drop.
POPPERS
A popper goes off after a moment in a cross. Its lanes light up in its owner's colour and flash faster just before it goes. Anyone in its lanes when it goes off is popped. A popper that goes off next to another sets that one off too.
YOUR OWN POPPER
You can walk off the popper you just dropped, but once you are off it, it blocks you like a wall.
GIFTS
Poppers break gifts open. Some hide a power-up: REACH makes your lanes longer, MORE lets you drop another at once, SPEED makes you faster, KICK lets you send a popper sliding by walking into it.
POPPED
Throw poppers in. Pop someone to come back. From the edge, hold THROW, watch the marker glide, and let go when it is where you want it.
WINNING
Last one standing takes the round. First to three rounds wins the match. If a round runs long, the speakers start coming down from the outside in.
