A last-one-standing party game for up to 8 players online, or 16 on a TV with phones as the controllers.
Everyone holds a board on their own side of a circus ring. A cannon in the middle turns, lights the spot on its drum where the next ball will leave, and fires. Slide along your side to block it, and hit SMASH just as it lands to send it back much faster at somebody else. Where the ball meets your board decides where it goes.
Two misses and you're out, and the ring closes up around the gap you left. Being out is not the end: you walk to your own seat in the stands and drop traps into the ring. A Post knocks the ball away, a Swirl bends it, a Spinner flings it.
The first ball aimed at you is slow, and a marker shows where it will reach your side. After that the balls get faster with every hit, and extra balls join in as the round goes on. Past eight players the ring grows a big drum in the middle. Fewer than four of you? Bots fill the empty spots, unless you turn them off.
How to play Rally
CONTROLS
Phone: drag anywhere to slide your board, SMASH to hit back hard.
Desktop: move the mouse to slide, click to SMASH.
TV: the phone is your controller. The stick slides your board, SMASH hits back.
KEEP THE BALLS OUT
A ball that gets past your board and over your line costs a life. Two misses and you're out. The cannon lights the spot it will fire from a moment before each ball.
SMASH
Press SMASH just as the ball reaches your board and it goes back much faster. Press too early or too late and the button needs a moment before it works again.
AIM
The middle of your board sends the ball straight back. The ends send it off at an angle. A board that is moving bends it further.
OUT? DROP TRAPS
You watch from your seat and drop traps into the ring: a Post knocks the ball away, a Swirl bends it, a Spinner flings it. On a phone, tap a trap to pick it, then touch the ring where it goes. On a desktop, pick a trap (or press 1, 2, 3) and click where it goes. A trap needs a few seconds before the next.
WINNING
Last one standing wins.
