First Light is a small universe you can touch. Everything in it pulls on everything else, in real time: gas falls into itself and lights, rocks gather into worlds, stars burn out, and a black hole eats what strays too close. Deal a scene from the deck, a giant black hole with one ocean world at its brink, two clouds colliding head on, a familiar system of eight worlds and a belt, or paint your own from nothing. Lock onto any body to follow it, then land on a world and stand on its surface: a real sea under a real sky, with the disc rising over the horizon. Pause to arrange the whole system by number, share the exact scene you are looking at as a link, and watch it run at up to sixteen times speed. It is not a puzzle and it has no score. It is a place to see gravity do what gravity does.
How to play First Light
MOVE is the hand at rest: drag anywhere to turn the view around what you are looking at, pinch or scroll to zoom. Pick a tool to paint: GAS, ROCKS, PLANET, STAR or BLACK HOLE, then drag on the sky; the drag is the throw, its length the speed. Tap a body to lock onto it. CAMERA: AUTO frames everything, CHASE rides behind the locked body, GROUND lands on a locked world (drag to look around, AUTO to leave), FREE flies. Press a camera seat again to bring the view home. SPEED: pause, 1x, 4x, 16x; RESET returns to the restart point, which PLAY sets. PAUSE opens SYSTEM, the ledger of every body: type a mass, a distance or a speed, press ORBIT to put a body on a circular path, ADD to drop a new one already orbiting, TEXT to write the whole scene down or paste one in. SHARE copies a link to exactly this scene. ORBITS draws each body's path ahead. M mutes the music, T toggles orbits. On a phone every control is a thumb key on the dock.
