How to delete your account
- Go to antics.gg/account and sign in with the same Google account you play with. If you signed in with an emailed link instead, use the same email address.
- Scroll to Delete your account and press Delete account. Type DELETE in the box that appears and press Delete for good.
- That is it. Deletion happens straight away, you are signed out everywhere, and the app signs you out the next time you open it. You can keep playing as a guest afterwards.
There is no undo and there is no waiting period, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing for us to restore. If you want your games back you sign in again and start a new account.
If you cannot sign in
Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request", from the address on the account. Tell us the name you played under so we can find you. We do it by hand and confirm within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account. The email address you signed in with, the player name shown to other players, and the date you joined. The face beside your name is drawn from an id derived from the account rather than stored anywhere, so once the account is gone there is nothing of it left to draw.
- Your sign-in. The link between your account and Google, including the tokens behind it.
- Every session. Every device you are signed in on, not just the one you pressed the button with.
- Your favourites. Every game you hearted, removed outright.
- The app's record, if you installed the app. The push tokens of every device you registered, your Tell me when a new game ships setting, and the record that binds your account to the store's subscription id. The record goes whole, so no device is left reachable and there is nothing to notify.
- Your play history. The rows that record rooms you opened, joined and played stop pointing at a person the moment the account goes: they are rewritten to a subject that belongs to nobody, and they expire by themselves 90 days after they were written. They are kept anonymous rather than erased because each one is also a fact about a room other people were in, and deleting one side of an evening rewrites their history too.
What is kept, and for how long
Scores on a game's leaderboard. A board is a public record of a game other people also played, so scores stay on it under the name you set them with. They carry an id that is derived from the account and cannot be turned back into it, and it is different for every game, so one board cannot be matched against another. Email us if you want a score taken down and we will remove it.
Usage statistics. Our own counters are daily aggregate totals with nobody in them. The product events we send to our analytics providers carry an identifier derived by a one-way hash, which cannot be reversed back to your account or joined to the id a game sees, and no name, email or IP address is sent with them. They are kept as statistics about how the service is used and are not linked to your account.
The app's own record. Nothing of it. The notification setting, the push tokens of the devices you registered and the binding to your store subscription are held in a separate record, filed under a derived id rather than your name or email, and deleting your account removes that record with everything else, which is why it is listed above instead. The store's own receipt for anything you bought is a separate thing, and is the next paragraph.
Purchases. Records of anything bought in our apps are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. They sit with Apple, Google and RevenueCat as the processors of the payment, and we cannot delete a store's own receipt.
IP addresses are used as requests arrive, for rate limiting and abuse prevention, and are not stored against your account.
Deleting some data without closing the account
Turning off Tell me when a new game ships in the app's You tab stops the notifications straight away; the device's push token stays registered until you sign out in the app, which deletes it. A favourite goes one game at a time: tap the filled heart on the game again and that row is deleted, and the games you have kept are listed on your account page. Changing your player name there replaces the name other players see from then on.
Your subscription is separate
Antics Pro is billed by Google Play, not by us, and deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it first at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, then delete the account. A subscription bought on an iPhone is cancelled in the App Store the same way.
