The werewolf game, also known as Mafia, for 5 to 16 people in the same room.
Each phone holds one secret: your role. The TV is the narrator. It tells the story out loud, calls each role by night, and shows the village by day.
At night everyone closes their eyes. The wolves open theirs and agree on a villager to devour. The Seer reads one player's true role. The Witch can save the wolves' victim once, and poison anyone once. On the first night Cupid makes two players fall in love: if one dies, so does the other.
In the morning the village wakes up to the news. Then everyone talks: who is lying? The living vote, and whoever the village banishes says their last words before their role is revealed. If the Hunter falls, he takes someone with him.
The village wins when the last wolf is gone. The wolves win when they are as many as everyone else.
No TV? Play apart: every phone carries the story as text. Someone can also tell the story themselves instead of playing.
How to play Moonwick
THE ROLES
Wolves: 1 per 5 players. They know each other and pick a victim together each night.
Seer: each night, reads one player's true role.
Witch: one potion saves the wolves' victim, one poisons anyone. Each works once.
Hunter (8 players and more): when he falls, his last shot takes someone with him.
Cupid (10 players and more): on the first night, makes two players fall in love. If one dies, the other dies of grief.
Villagers: everyone else.
THE NIGHT
Everyone closes their eyes. The TV calls the wolves, the Seer and Cupid first, then the Witch. Only the players called look at their phone. The wolves must all pick the same name, or nobody is devoured.
THE DAY
The village learns who fell and what they were. Talk for 2 to 4 minutes; when more than half the living are ready, the vote opens. Vote within 30 seconds; whoever is banished gets 15 seconds of last words. A tie: each tied player defends themselves, then the village votes again between them. Still tied, nobody leaves.
GHOSTS
The dead stay silent and never vote.
WINNING
The village wins when every wolf is gone. The wolves win when they are as many as everyone else.
