A small island you walk around, fly over and sail from. It is somewhere to be rather than something to win: no timer, no score to chase, nothing that can go wrong.
Two vehicles wait at the two piers. The seaplane moors at the long one — nine rings loop the island, rising and falling so the course is flown in three dimensions, and you cannot crash: the ground is a floor, not a hazard. The launch is tied up at the short one, and it is a boat rather than a car on water — it carries momentum, it needs way on before it will turn at all, it slides through a hard turn and heels away from it, and the shore is a cushion that turns you along the sand rather than a wall you stop against.
Everyone who opens the link is on the SAME island. You will see the others walking about, and if somebody is already in the boat you will watch them sail it.
Every object here was built in code and exported before you arrived — the geometry, the textures, the sea, the wind, and the sound, which is generated too: surf that swells as you walk down the beach, wind gusting on the same curve the grass bends to, and footsteps that change on grass, sand and planks.
How to play Cozy Island
WALKING
WASD or the arrow keys to walk.
Move the mouse to look around; scroll to zoom.
On a phone: drag on the LEFT half of the screen to walk, the RIGHT half to look.
THE SEAPLANE — walk to the end of the LONG pier and press E (or the on-screen button).
A and D bank; the bank is what turns you.
W and S dive and climb. Pitch is inverted, as an aircraft's is: push forward to go down.
Fly THROUGH the nine rings — passing near one does not count.
Press E again low beside the pier to dock.
THE BOAT — walk to the end of the SHORT pier and press E.
W and S are the throttle, A and D the tiller.
It will not turn until it has way on, and it will not stop when you let go.
Press E beside the pier to tie up.
There is no way to lose, get stranded, or break anything. Go and look at the lighthouse.
